Stable high speed RouterBOARD PTP link

Mon Feb 02, 2015 12:41 am

Dear friends,

Recently i asked many questions on the forum. I hope so thats OK.
So far I have used Ubiquiti for PTP links. Thats what we use in our company. We don't have many but I know they work stable at high speeds and I mean 100+ Mbps. Since I like MikroTik I would like to use RouterBOARD PTP links in the future but there is no integrated device with small beam angle antenna from RB. I see there are suitable antennas for net metal or base box to be used as PTP but can I achieve 100 Mbps with MikroTik devices?

Best Regards.

Have you looked at the SXT AC series? They are narrow beamwidth and depending on length and some other factors could potentially do 100mbps+

NetMetal with the mANT30 could go much further and possibly more speed - check out routerboard.com for more info on them.

Hi. Thanks for reply.
Not so narrow beamwidth... its about 25 degree. I prefer 8 degree H/V and lower for PTP links. With this it is easier to avoid interference from other devices on similar frequencies. RouterBOARD website declared high speeds there but in real world that is not possible... from my experience. This is why I asked is there a link to handle 100 Mbps. 10km distance in this case...

Best Regards.
