Recommended routerOS for entire network

Mon Feb 09, 2015 7:47 am

Hi guys

Need some advice before the plunge. We need to upgrade our entire production network's routerOS(primarily routerOS 6.6 atm).
We have been thinking about upgrading it straight to routerOS 6.25, but naturally we are a bit hesitant.
Usually I would spend a day or 2 going through the forums and find the pro's and con's, but we are busy with a project with a tight deadline, which is taking up more time than I would like.

Just to give some info on the network:
Running OSPF with about 1600 routes.
About 120 router on the network
Between 2 and 8 backbones per site
Between 1 and 6 distributions per site
2 routers per site(one for backbones, one for distribution)
BGP running on 4 core routers.

And thoughts would be appreciated.

I think that 6.25 worths to be tried. Of course you will make appropriate testing before you deploy it to all network.

We are going with 6.19 wireless=fp package since mid of last year.
We are very happy with stability and throughput.

Thanks for the replies guys. We are testing 6.26, but we are experiencing queueing issues. We use PPPOE's for our clients with radius authentication which assigns the profile(line speed). We are only getting half the required speed when testing.

Good to send info to support so they can make corrections if there is an error or they can give you some hint.

we are testing now 6.27 on some devices.
It seems to work well in PtP and PtMP szenarios.
