Editing default configuration

Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:57 pm

I'm trying to modify the default configuration in a router (RB951G-2HnD) so that when the reset button is held in, it default back to my settings rather than the factory defaults.

The main changes I need to make are:
Set Port5 (POE Out port) to be the WAN/gateway port
Change the LAN subnet to a different /24
Set the WiFi SSID and Password

I've looked into using the export and export compact commands but they don't seem to export where settings are removed. eg: If I export compact all of my settings, factory reset and then import the settings, the LAN ports end up having both my new subnet and the 192.168.88.0/24 subnet - It's added the subnet, but not removed it.

How can I change this default config so that my changes are kept after a reset?

Thanks

Cheers, thanks a lot. I tried searching, but the search is rubbish, it seems to search on individual words, "default configuration" and default configuration return the same results, even if you try the advanced search.

Edit: It turns out you can use single quotes 'default configuration' :)
