Fri Jun 30, 2006 5:53 pm

I saw a post talking about WiMax support. but this was quite some time ago.

Hi Peter,

you might want to invest some time using the search function for this forum. There is plenty of content on this topic.

WiMax support is planned for some future release, but nothing really decided yet, if I read MikroTik correcty.

The 900 MHz cards from Ubiquiti are supported.

The Ubiquiti 3.5 GHz look like "work in progress", but perhaps someone from MikroTik could give a current status on the 3.5 GHz model?

Best regards,
Christian Meis

3.5Ghz would be great. We have a license for 3.5.
any idea who to contact to find out if this supported?
Peter.

we're on a tiny island in the Caribbean, and we pay the government for frequency licenses. so far we have been using Alvarion OFDM and XL products. very expensive but reliable. just started experimenting with MT. still having probles with it on a bacbone link. see myprevious posts.

Hi guys, been a while :)

Quick question:
We heard Rumors that Level 6 allows some extra frequencies, so
Does Level 6 allow to raise the 2.4 GHz to 2.6 GHz? or do we need to get specialized radios? Or flash the mini-pci cards....??

Also, we are sitting with thousands of 802.11b Senao AP/Bridges and need to upgrade them to 2.6 GHz. Anyone found a firmware to flash this product. OpenWRT doesn't seem to support Engenius/Senao, though the latter has a Prism based PCMCIA radio inside.

The manufacturers are refusing to help us, and we have recently received a license for 2.6GHz. 2.4Ghz is illegal in South Africa except for indoor use. So, we need the shift urgently.

Thx.

simonkizi,
I suppose, allowed frequency depends on wireless card,
e.g. CM9 provides with 2.312 - 2.497 range
