Hi everyone
I have noticed that if I power down my PC at night and power it up again in the morning, my Network adapter says not connected. I then have to unplug the network cable and plug it back in and its up and running again.
Many PCs switch the NIC to 10Mb/s in sleep. What you're doing by plugging and unplugging the ethernet cable is starting a renegotiation. Use another PC to log into the hAP and check the ethernet speed on the PC when it's asleep.
My previous WIFI router didn't do this though, which was a netgear.
Hi thanks for choosing our products
could you specify your computer network adapter settings ? mother board bios settings, is WOL enabled ?
tried to replicate on computers with intel i217-v , atheros AR8151, Atheros AR8131, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 with latest manufacturer drivers. Devices always started up form shutdown and from sleep an connected to 100mbps and was able to access network without unplugging rj45.
The motherboard is a ASUS Rog Extreme IV. My OS is windows 8.1.
I will have to check if WOL is enabled in the bios. Then again, on my previous router it would not do this. It also also only seems to happen if the PC is off for a prolonged time. Switching it off and back on again my network adapter is enabled and I am connected to the network.
In the end its no train smash as these little routers are the most stable routers I ever had

.
Thanks for the feedback though, appreciated.
