I have problem to connect Samsung TV 65JS8502 to internet through a wired connection. It didn’t receive IP config from DHCP and it also don’t working through manual IP configuration. Through Mikrotik 951G-2HnD wireless connection is all ok and my TV see Internet without problem.

Situation update.
1.Physically Ethernet interfere status is running 100MB/s full duplex (TV have only 100MB/s port).I trying turn off autonegotiation and set speed to 100MB/s, port status running, but still no Internet.
2.I’m trying connect my TV to the internet through my old Linksys WMP400N router. Successfully, without any issues through wire and wireless.
3.I’m reconfigure old router as network switch and made chain device -> Linksys -> Mikrotik -> Lattelekom optic. All devices (PC, Popcorn, NAS) connecting to the internet without any issues, but TV not
4.I enable DHCP debugging. This is log(FC:8F:90:22:55:44 – TV wifi, FC:8F:90:CD:55:59 – TV LAN) :

I already trying this settings but separately. After changing LAN ip to bridge-local interface also doing router restart, but bridge filter rules disabling without restart. Today I will try both settings simultaneously with router restart.

1. I trying recommended settings with restart – same problem
2. I take from my IT security guys another model Mikrotik router RouterBOARD 450G (without Wifi , LAN 100Mb/s) with same packages (6.29.1) and firmware (3.22) versions. With it (default setting) my Samsung TV work perfectly, without any issues.
3. I think problem is incompatibility between Mikrotik 951G-2HnD and Samsung 65JS8502 hardware or firmware

Hi all,
I have exact the same problem with 951G-2HnD but Samsung 6 series TV UE48J6300AU.
I see that dhcp server leases an IP address for a 20-30 seconds but TV doesn't use it. Sometimes router writes log message 'dhcp1 offering lease 192.168.88.245 for FC:8F:90:75:DA:14 without success'. All my other home devices work fine and use dhcp. I even can connect my laptop to the same cable and it gets IP address with no problem. I use the latest firmware on router and TV.
Has anyone found the solution? Please, help.
TIA,
Edward

UPD: when I connect cable to my laptop, both ends report connection as 1Gbit/s. When I reconnect the cable to my TV, router detectes interface rate as 100Mbit/s but neither DHCP or static IP settings work on TV. It seems Samsung, can't use IP address for some reasons. The only way that works so far for me as a temporary workaround is to decrease speed on router's port down to 10Mbit/s. That way connection is stable with dhcp/static settings.
I think the problem in TV's network adapter or its firmware.

Hi
Eventually I solved the problem by connecting switch between router and TV ports. Now TV detects network and gets a dynamic IP with no problem. What do you think could be the reason that TV doesn work directly via router port? Samsung Service tested TV and didn't find any problem with connection to their Cisco at test lab. The distance between router and TV is only about 5-6 meters.
Thanks

Sounds very similar to the issue mikrotik devices had with the UK's openreach FTTC modems.
Not sure if it was a hardware or firmware fix from mikrotik to fix in the end though.
Might be worth inquiring.

Hello, I'm having the same problem. I tried to downgrade to 10M on router, tv gets normal (3d) lease, but on tv after that says invalid MAC address and I can't even set manual IP. When I put switch (dlink) between router and tv, it's same error, but now with 100M link on router.
I can get normal lease through that same cable on my pc. Also when I connect tv via cable through my pc to network, it get's normal lease and it works.
Does this get us closer to problem?

Do we have any support team there?
Thnx

Hello, everyone!
I have a similar problem. My tv (Samsung J5300) gets ip address but every 20 minutes "tv freezes" and shows a alert "network issue". It's lost connection just for a few seconds, and everything works ok for another 20 minutes.
I tried a lot of things and what i discovered is that the tv doesn't work on bridge interfaces.
So, my solution:
1 - Remove "master port" on ethernet port 2" (in my case),
2- Configure a new network on that interface
3 - Enable dhcp
4 - Enjoy.

Does any one know why?
My only "problem" is that "cast youtube" not works, so i can't cast youtube videos from my mobile to the tv.

@ Marsik & neomega702:
Try either setting DHCP server authoritative = always, or install 6.39.
@ yangwao: please post a config export
@ Ozik: this is a user-supported forum, mikrotik staff are around but if you want direct support, you should email them, including a supout. To be able to guide you in the right direction here, you should post more information (configuration export).
LOOK like hardware problem

Yes. Have you tried to netinstall it? If the problem persist, generate a suppout and email support.

I also have a 951G-2HnD (Firmware 6.41.2 / packages 6.41.2)
WLAN ist working from start but by wired connection my Samsung Serie 6 TV is not able to get an IP from the DHCP Server.
Samsung TV has latest updates. I also made a full router reset with default configuration.
Is the problem solved or is there a fix?
Thank you!

I had seldom this problem with Samsung TV and Samsung BD player, not getting IP from DHCP.
Only disconecting the Samsung device from power a connecting after a while fixed the problem. It must be some problem or incompatibility at Samsung side.
I finaly fixed it by switching both devices to Sony brand...

I Surprised - I'm not alone here. Mikrotik 951G-2HnD v.6.43.2 also wired network not working to my LG smart-TV. I think something with DNS. If I plug cable directly to my TV - works fine, but not from my router. LG and Samsung customer support adviced to change DNS to 8.8.8.8 It was helpful for many but not in my case. I plan to buy a new Mikrotik model I will give feedback when I get it.

@pukkita: Thnx for reply. Actually this issue is not actual for now. I've bought Android Shield TV with 1GB. Actually, I think embedded smart TV is ... bad. So, Android TV box is must have. And also I bought new mikrotik hap ac2.

@mrj45, I don't think that issue is in DNS. The most likely this is hardware issue. As was advised, it's better to ask support directly (and share here the answer

). But anyway, I advise you to buy separate Android TV box. This is to long to explain here, but believe it is worth.

Hi everyone!
I have the same problem with connection my Samsung Smart TV via ethernet. Wifi works fine, but ethernet does not work. DHCP failures, assigned address...deassiged address. I tried to change whatever options on bridge and ethernet ports I could, but no results.
My device RB2011UAS-2HnD
Feature of my RB is it have two switches onboard 1-5 ether and 6-10 ether. And solving of problem is to connect TV and Lan (on my way) for two different switches. And then join them into one bridge. I haven't the explaining why it works but it my solving.

It's seems like hardware issue. Have RB951G-2HnD and that problem too.
I try to understand what happening inside TVBOX MXQ Pro 4k using ADB.
Android tv box just receive dhcp answer but cannot apply received config.
When using "dhcptool eth0" inside tvbox, address applied successfully. But, it need to send that command every time. That not resolve problem.
The solution is: Just use easy Ethernet 100M switch. (In my case is TP-Link SF-10008D)
And enjoyyy

Hello, did anyone found solution to Mikrotik NAT-Samsung TV problem ?
here is ours :
MK type SXT LITE5 AC(6.44.3)
Samasung TV UE43RU7172UXXH runs Tizen OS
TV is just not taking DHCP address, from my point of view discover, offer, request, ack works fine as shown in attached prtscr when i debuged it, but TV stays on 0.0.0.0 and mikrotik assign and deassign the address imediately,
Setup: Mk as NAT -> ubnt wifi AP -> TV
technician did try straight cable connection as well with same result, all the other devices APPLE,Android phones etc.. works fine behind wifi AP but Samsung just wont.
We found two solutions:
1) just put another NAT device between Mk and TV
2) set IP in Samsung TV and make it static in Mk DHCPserver
Any ideas?
Did try changing Authoritative to yes - no change.
Also i attached DHCP setup , its standard Mk setup
Thx for any advices.

A picture is worth a thousand words...
Bug.png
When I connect my RB2011 (tested with ROS 6.40.1 and ROS 6.47.10) to the white UPC (Magenta) Connect box (I use port 6 - 100 Mbit/sec) the RB2011 only connects with the speed of 10 Mbit/sec. If I force 100 Mbit/sec no link will be established (the cable test says that the second pair has sometimes a problem).
When I connect any other 100 Mbit device to port 6 of the RB2011, everything works fine. When I connect a laptop to the Connect box, I can even connect with 1000 Mbit/sec. So the port 6 is not defective.
Now I tried to put a 100 Mbit/sec switch between RB2011 and the UPC Connect box - now it works with 100 Mbit/sec without any link downs. The problem is solved.
So, my RB2011 has no hardware failure, it must be a software bug that the two devices can't work together with 100 Mbit/sec.
Port 6 is connected to internal switch 2 - now I could test what happens when I connect the UPC Connect box directly to internal switch 1 (port 1 to 5).
This bug on RB2011 should be fixed soon. :-)

RB2011UAS-2HnD router. Same issue - Samsung TV does not get IP on DHCP. When managed to get IP (can't identify what solved the issue, as many settings tried during the day) - no internet. The previous offer to turn off 110M helped on the 2-5 Gigabit ports of this router. No need to switch 100M off on 6-10 ports thou. Hope this helps, too.

Hi All,
I have similar problem with Mikrotik 951G-2HnD and Samsung TV QE75Q80AAT:
- on Mikrotik 951G-2HnD after disabling 100Mbit option - my TV successfully connected at 10Mbit/s
- I tested on 951UI-2HnD (where we have 10/100Mbit) ports - and TV successfully connected at 100Mbit
So conclusion is : something is wrong with Mikrotik firmware for Gigabit routers...
How can I raise support ticket to fix this problem ?

don't go fast to declare guilty rb951 ethernet negotiation it's a matter of will, both ends needs to be compatible
TV vendors does not put effort on wired connections, they think the important connection is wireless, even on high-end devices wired NIC is not a priority
