problems with generic configuration with dhcp

RESOLVED.
wish there was a 'marked as resolved'
I did end up having to make some manual configuration changes, and the O/S required a restart on modification of the eth1 card in order to take effect. Afterwards it came up and I was able to continue on. But I did make the mistake of clicking 'submit' on the quick config once or twice, that really messes with the configuration of the router.
