CCRs Crashed running v6.23

Hi all,

I just came across a very strange issue with a bunch of CCRs in different locations all over the united states crashing all at the same time. I have done some digging and cannot find any similarity other than them all being model CCR1036-8G-2S+ running v6.23.

We have 120+ MikroTiks varying between RB1100s, x86 platforms, and CCR1036s. Just yesterday we had 34 of those systems all reboot at the same time (almost down to the second). The log entries all show that they rebooted due to a watchdog timeout.

The 34 systems that rebooted were all CCR1036-8G-2S+ running v6.23 (with the exception of two that were running v6.25). We have 10 CCR1036-8G-2S+ systems running versions 6.15 and 6.18 that did not crash, and we have many more RB1100s and x86s that are running v6.23 that did not crash either. The time of the reboot was 07/01/2015 at 00:00:00 UTC (although all my systems are configured for PDT which was 17:00:00 PDT)

It's also worth noting that two of those systems are running in a lab and have VERY slim configurations so I can't find any pattern there either.

So, I have a request for anybody running v6.23 on a CCR1036-8G-2S+ that is probably a long shot.... but check out your system uptime? Did yours reboot around that same time?

Please see the below thread. Your issue is a bug in RouterOS in handling the Leap second that occurred yesterday.

That would explain it! Thanks for the reply!
I completely forgot about leap second. I'm glad to know I wasn't just going crazy
